# White label the PNLCS client area and admin

> **Writer's brief**
> - **Audience:** a reseller who wants customers to see only their brand.
> - **Promise:** "Your name, logo and colours everywhere your customers look: website, client area, invoices and emails."
> - **Keywords:** white label billing panel, white label client area, rebrand PNLCS, branded hosting panel.
> - **Call to action:** open the client area in a private window and admire your brand.
> - **Strong visual:** a before/after slider (default look vs. branded).

White-labelling replaces our name with yours on everything your customers
see: the public website, the client area, invoices, emails, and your own
admin area.

**You need:** logo, favicon, brand colours, company details and support
email. See [Before you start](00-before-you-start.md#brand-assets).

## Step 1: your company details

These appear on invoices, emails and legal pages.

1. Go to **Setup → General Settings → Company Information**.
2. Fill in **Company Name**, **Company Address**, city and the rest.
3. Under **Legal identity** you can add the **Registered company name** and
   registration details for invoices.
4. Save.

> - **Highlight:** Company Name.
> - **Blur:** real addresses, tax numbers.

> - **Alt text:** "Company information settings in PNLCS"

## Step 2: logo and favicon

1. Go to **Setup → Appearance → Themes**.
2. Upload your **Logo** (PNG, JPG, SVG or WebP, max 2 MB) and **Favicon**
(PNG, ICO or SVG, max 512 KB).
3. The logo replaces the name in the website header, the client area and the
   admin area.

> - **Highlight:** the upload buttons.
> - **Blur:** nothing.

> - **Alt text:** "Logo and favicon upload in Appearance settings"

## Step 3: the White-Label settings

Go to **Setup → Appearance → White-Label**:

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Company Name** | The name shown in page titles, the site header, footer and admin area, in place of ours |
| **Company URL** | Your main website; linked from the footer |
| **Support Email** | Shown to customers as the contact address |
| **Copyright Text** | The footer line, e.g. "MyHosting Ltd" gives "© 2026 MyHosting Ltd. All rights reserved." |
| **Remove Truehost Reseller / Panelica branding references** | Hides the remaining credits to the software, such as the GitHub link in the website footer and the "Billing & Support System" credit in the admin footer |

Save.

> 📸 **IMAGE 3: White-Label tab**
> - **Show:** Appearance → White-Label filled in for "MyHosting".
> - **Highlight:** Company Name and the Remove branding tick box.
> - **Blur:** nothing.
> - **File:** `images/white-label/03-white-label-tab.png`
> - **Alt text:** "White-Label settings with company name, URL, support email and copyright"

## Step 4: theme and colours

1. **Setup → Appearance → Themes**: pick a theme. You can switch at any time.
2. **Color Presets**: choose a preset or set your own brand colours.
3. **Dark Mode**: let visitors switch between light and dark.

> 📸 **IMAGE 4: Themes gallery**
> - **Show:** Appearance → Themes, the theme gallery.
> - **Highlight:** the active theme.
> - **Blur:** nothing.
> - **File:** `images/white-label/04-themes.png`
> - **Alt text:** "Theme gallery in Appearance settings"

## Step 5: your homepage

**Setup → Appearance → Homepage Builder** controls the public homepage:

- Turn sections on or off and drag them into order (hero, domain search,
  hosting plans, testimonials, FAQ, call-to-action...).
- **Edit** a section to change its wording, buttons and links.
- In the **hero** section you can set your own picture with **Image URL**,
or leave it empty to show the animation. Clear a text field to hide that
  line.

> - **Show:** Homepage Builder with the section list.
> - **Highlight:** a section's on/off switch and Edit button.
> - **Blur:** nothing.
> - **File:** `images/white-label/05-homepage-builder.png`
> - **Alt text:** "Homepage builder with reorderable sections"

## Step 6: emails in your name

1. **Setup → General Settings → Mail Configuration**: set the **System Email
Address** (e.g. `noreply@yourbrand.com`) and the **Email From Name** (your brand),
plus your SMTP details. Send a test email.
2. **Setup → Email Templates**: adjust the wording of invoices, welcome
emails and reminders if you wish.

> ⚠️ Send from an address on **your own domain**, with your email provider's
> SPF and DKIM records set. Otherwise invoices land in spam.

## Step 7: your own address

Customers should reach the panel at your domain, e.g. `billing.yourbrand.com`:

1. In your domain's DNS, add an **A record** for `billing` pointing to the
   panel server's IP address.
2. Ask your technical contact or hosting provider to set it as the panel's
address (`APP_URL`) and to issue an SSL certificate for it.

## Check the result

Open these in a private browser window:

- `https://<your panel>/`: the homepage, header and footer.
- `https://<your panel>/client/login`: the client area login.
- `https://<your panel>/admin/login`: your admin login, with your name and initial.
- An invoice PDF and a test email.

> 📸 **IMAGE 6: Before and after**
> - **Show:** side by side, the default homepage and the branded one.
> - **Blur:** nothing.

> - **Alt text:** "The PNLCS homepage before and after white-labelling"

## Troubleshooting

| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| The old name still shows somewhere | Check both **Appearance → White-Label → Company Name** and **General Settings → Company Name**. The White-Label name wins when both are set |
| Logo looks squashed | Use a wide logo with a transparent background, about 30 px tall |
| Emails show the wrong sender | **General Settings → Mail Configuration → Email From Name** |
